What is the NUMS MDCAT?
To get admission in NUMS-affiliated Armed Forces Medical and Dental Colleges, all candidates must appear in the NUMS MDCAT — a mandatory entrance test conducted by the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS). This test is a prerequisite for admission in MBBS and BDS programs for the session 2025–26.
🔹 1. Eligibility for NUMS MDCAT – 2025
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for NUMS MDCAT:
Any other MDCAT, such as PMDC MDCAT, will not be accepted for NUMS colleges.
a. Nationality:
Candidates with valid Pakistani citizenship, Overseas Pakistanis, Dual Nationals, and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply.
b. Educational Qualification:
Students who have passed or are waiting for results of FSc (Pre-Medical)/HSSC, A-Levels, or 12th Grade (or equivalent) are eligible to apply.
c. Validity:
Only the NUMS MDCAT – 2025 will be accepted for admission in MBBS/BDS programs for the 2025-26 session.
🔹 2. Pattern of NUMS MDCAT 2025
The NUMS MDCAT – 2025 will be based on two main parts: Part A and Part B. The total weightage of the test is divided as follows:
✅ Part A – Subject-Based MCQs (95% Weightage)
- This part consists of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Time Allowed: 2 hours & 45 minutes
- Number of MCQS Breakdown by Subject:
- Biology: 65
- Chemistry: 40
- Physics: 30
- English: 15
- Total: 150
DIFFICULTY LEVEL:
- 15 % MCQs ——– Easy
- 70 % MCQs ——– Moderate
- 15 % MCQs ——– Hard
✅ Part B – Psychological Test (5% Weightage)
- This section includes 50 MCQs based on personality and psychological assessment.
- Time Allowed: 15minutes
- These questions are designed to assess attitude, behavior, and aptitude of candidates.
