There are currently 15 medical and 6 dental colleges in Pakistan where admissions are granted solely on the basis of the NUMS MDCAT. These colleges are either directly affiliated with the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) or administered by the Armed Forces but affiliated with their own respective military-run universities.

Out of the 15 medical colleges, 9 are directly affiliated with NUMS. For these 9 colleges, NUMS is the degree-awarding authority, and it also manages their merit calculation and display of merit lists.
